Cisco caught in maelstrom over fake job ads to hire H-1B visa holders
Submitted by Brad Reese on Fri, 06/29/2007 - 2:04pm.

Patrick Thibodeau reported in Computerworld, that Cisco may have advertised for a U.S. job position that really wasn't open to American citizens.
June 28, 2007 (Computerworld) -- Cisco Systems Inc. placed a help wanted ad for a network consulting engineer in the Chicago Tribune on Sunday, June 3, and David Huber, a networking professional who lives in Chicago, was interested in the job.

The ad copy read, "No phone calls please." But Huber, a University of Chicago graduate whose prior work included being the lead LAN/WAN network engineer for NASA's aborted X-33 rocket plane project, called Cisco and asked for the person named in the ad.

"Before I send my resume into a black hole, I always like to talk to the recruiter first," he said this week.

A Cisco telephone operator gave Huber the phone number of an immigration law firm in Santa Clara, Calif. "Why would I be talking with somebody at an immigration law firm about this?" he wondered.

Huber said his question was answered a couple of weeks later when he saw the controversial YouTube video that shows an attorney from a Pittsburgh law firm providing advice to employers on how to deal with government requirements for seeking U.S. workers to fill jobs before hiring foreign workers.

"It seems obvious to me after that video what's going on," Huber said.

"YouTube-Gate

The YouTube Cohen & Grigsby clip we posted two weeks ago of the immigration law firm instructing employers how to conduct PERM recruiting in a manner that excludes all qualified American applicants was a hit. It now has over 180,000 views, including Senators and other government officials, and key media. Links to the video and media coverage are at the top of www.programmersguild.org. Please continue to help spread the message. (Our YouTube Page contains clips of Lou Dobbs and other relevant issues.)"

List of Employers who utilize the Cohen & Grigsby American worker displacement services

June 24, 2007 - In the now infamous YouTube video, (Covered in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Philadelphia Daily News) attorney Lawrence Lebowitz explains how the law firm of Cohen & Grigsby undermines the spirit of the law to exclude all qualified Americans who apply for a job. They accomplish this by running PERM fake job ads. Prior H-1b filings by Lebowitz suggest PERM processing he will do in the future. (See www.programmersguild.org/RIR/ for tips on how to recognize these fake job ads.)

FAKE JOB ADS IN PITTSBURGH SUNDAY NEWSPAPERS

The key to PERM recruitment is to run some fake job ads in the Sunday newspaper, craft the ads to exclude as many applicants as possible, then submit the ads to the DOL as proof that the employer had engaged in "good faith recruitment."

EXAMINE THE H-1b DATA

The LCAs that Lebowitz filed in 2004 and 2005 for H1-b workers are here, as a zipped Excel file. Lebowitz' largest client was not a U.S. corporation, but rather Hexaware Technologies, Inc - an Indian firm that transfers U.S. jobs and technology to India, and discriminates in hiring against American workers. Lebowitz is getting rich selling out his fellow Americans, and conducting seminars to teach other immigration attorneys how to do the same.

Meet the Hexaware Management Team. See their growing profits as they steal American jobs. You can see the thousands of LCAs filed by Hexaware here at H1b.info. See related articles here and here and here. (In India, rather than bringing in H-1b, the employers provide training.)

Lebowitz also processed H-1b for the bodyshop Logix-Guru, which advertises their H-1b sponsorship service on their website. They pay their Software Engineers between $42k and $48k.

NOTE: In 2005 Cohen & Grigsby sought LCAs for Attorneys and a software engineer. They pay the software engineer $44,000 - less than half what they pay for attorneys. Under the law of supply and demand, it seems that it is attorneys that are in short supply.

EXAMINE THE PERM DATA

The Department of Labor makes PERM filings available from their website at this link:

www.flcdatacenter.com/CasePerm.aspx

Tab #3 of the zipped Excel file contains the PERM (formerly known as RIR) processing the Cohen & Grigsby processed in 2004. As they explain in their video, all of these positions ran as "fake job ads" in the Sunday edition of major Philadelphia newspapers.

If you see similar ads running by these same companies, the odds are that they are PERM processing rather than bonafide job openings. This is a log of fake ads, and a lot of qualified Americans applying for jobs where the lawyers have stacked the deck against them in favor of citizens of other countries.

Keep in mind that when American jobs are filled by Americans, Lawrence Lebowitz doesn't make any profit.
