New England Regional Councl of Carpenters Rally in Seek of Local Jobs, SHAME ON THE MAYO GROUP

A group of carpenters gathered in front of the headquarters of the Mayo Group headquarters (a local developer)to talk about how this company is lowering local area wages and standards by not paying workers fair wages and not offering any other benefits. I interviewed Frank SantaFe who is an organizer with the New England Regional Council of Carpenters . He told me that recently at the "Artists Lofts" which is a new building in Lynn MA the Mayo Group who was the developer hired a company called Multipro who were paying 11 carpenters cash under the table . Frank explained to me how these workers are working without workmans compensation insurance and have no money going into social security or unemployment. The Mayo group is obviousley a company that supports the underground economy and this is some great footage of a group of carpenters going into this developers office and confronting him about his support of tax and insurance fraud.
