Workshop Helping Folks Get Active Online Proves Successful ... and Tons of Fun!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be on a panel of bloggers to assist folks at the DC Democratic State Committee, an event that was organized by our good friend Kirsta. Here is the announcement that got to Union Review early yesterday morning.

Kirsta, who publishes the site Union Gal and frequently blogs under the name Bendygirl, had Tula Connell, Joe638NYC and myself talking with folks about our blogging experiences, share some stats regarding blogging, and then doing a hands-on training getting people set up with usernames and passwords so that they could start their own blog, if they chose to do so.

It was a great little workshop in that everyone there had different skill sets and levels of experience. One women was blogging on her own new site before she left the room, others were getting a gmail e-mail account for the first time.

This is what is about, at least for me, helping everyday people get online, get active and get heard. I am honored that I was invited to be part of this event with the panel I was chosen to work with; and I left thinking that we should have these kind of workshops every week of the year.
