Palin: These People Don't Stack Up to Me

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities.

Who, besides Barack Obama, is Governor Palin sinely taking a shot at in her speech?

Let's start with Lech Walesa, the man who stood on the front lines of the fight to bring Democracy to Eastern Europe as the leader of the Solidarity Movement.  This guy was so radical, he even convinced Ronald Reagan to hand him a medal.  I think it was something about bringing down those communists unions, or was it the unions bringing down the communists? Not sure which now, but he led something called the Solidarity Movement that brought down the communists.

Then there's Mother Jones, a woman who inspired a famous songand who is still known throughout Applachia as the Miners' Angel.  She's so radical that there are statutes dedicated to her throughout red blooded and God fearing West Virginia.

Or how about Susan B. Anthony?  Her biography says she was known for giving speeches throughout North America and Europe - and we all know how that plays with the Republican crowd.

She also actually thought it would be a good idea for women to vote.  Now that's a radical!  Just look at what she wrought.

Then there's Cesar Chavez, a man that's some sort of inspiration to millions of immigrants.  Did you know that the radicals convinved 8 states to declare his birthday a holiday?  The nerve of them.

Talking about holidays, what about Martin Luther King, Jr?  I guess Sarah Palin must have contributed a lot more to society than him.

Sure he led a movement that ended Jim Crowe laws, got the Voting Rights Act passed and fought racism through non-violence.

But how does that stack up to being mayor of Wassilla?martin-luther-king-hoboken-january-2008
Then there is, of course, her fellow conservative, a self-described community organizer.

That being Pat Robertson.  Founder of the 700 Club and the group known as Operation Blessing.  Yep, he too is a community organizer folks.

And last, but not least, there's this guy.  Lived a long time ago.  Said a lot of radical stuff and got everybody all fired up.

There you have it folks.  Damn community organizers and radicals whose contributions pale in comparison to the Mayor of Wassilla, Alaska.

Talk about being out of touch and arrogant.

Thanks for the fantastic

Thanks for the fantastic message, Paul. As you know, it is the radical people of the world who are credited with changing history--not those who sit idly by and, oh, I dunno, go moose hunting. :)

Hey Husker

Paul is often on Daily Kos ... I don't have the link to his Diary there on this computer; remind me at work and I will get it for you ... you should definitely read this guy's stuff, my gut feeling is you will be shocked to learn how alligned the two of you are.

He'd be shocked to know I allign you two knowing what a goof ball you are :)
