The following a statement regarding the growth of Union Review from Richard Negri, the site's founder.
With active online mobilization and organizing we have turned Union Review into a vibrant growing community of concerned workers. We are boasting a membership of organizers, union officers, activists, communicators and rank-and-file from shops around the United States.
The site is seeing exponential growth month-over-month in regard to the stats. We are now averaging between 15,000 and 20,000 hits to the site with an average of about 350 unique visitors each day.
Since we began working as volunteer correspondents with Labour Start, we have brought over a whole new audience of readers and writers. That effort, coupled with doubling everything on MYSPACE has truly seen daily visits to the site go from 5- 10 people to hundreds and hundreds; it is very exciting to say the least.
The site was started in 2005 shortly after the break up of the AFL-CIO and the formation of Change-To-Win. It was put in place to help spread union related news and views and open it up as a forum for working people around the United States. To this end, we are succeeding.
