TAKE ACTION! Rural Metro Teamsters On Life Support

I find it hard to believe that an EMT at Rural Metro in Upstate NY, who work day in and day out to save lives, is paid crap wages. According to the Teamsters, these Rural Metro workers in Buffalo and its neighboring communities are paid less than the average of their counterparts in nearby cities, but their skills are the same -- their workload is the same or better; so, where's the hold up on a good living wage?

We can take action today ...

Click on the link and send a letter off to the company, a number of area politicians and even each other. Together we can get this on the radar of decision makers and the general public, and together, hopefully, we can get these workers a decent and deserving wage.

Poverty level wages for health professionals...

Unfortunately, this information does not surprise me. I know a good, hard working gal that worked for an EMT outfit in Findlay, Ohio...I asked her how the pay was...I, of course thought the pay would be a livable wage because of the extensive training and life-saving know-how these professionals need for their job...MAN, WAS I WRONG!!!; AND I DON'T MEAN IN A GOOD WAY!!!...this outfit paid these highly trained health professionals $7 and some odd cents per hour...BARELY ABOVE TODAY'S MINUMUM WAGE FOR THIS KIND OF WORK??? This is another great example of Republican economic thinking...the sooner congress and President Obama pass the Employee Free Choice Act, the better off we American workers will become. Of course, this will take all of us to work together and it WILL TAKE MORE THAN ONE PRESIDENTIAL TERM to climb out of this economic hole...it has been 30-40 years of Republican lies and mis-truths and half-truths and padding the pockets of the wealthy while the working man should feel glad that he/she has a poverty-wage job...brainwashing bullshit from the Republicans...so, America, we need to keep voting into all elected offices the candidates that will make real changes so the worker is able to have good pay and good benefits like they deserve...it will take 15-20 years, in my guesstimation, for America to build the middle class back to where it should be...but, this can only be done by keeping the Republicans out of power.
