The Yahoo login and Yahoo email website was presenting problems to users today. About five percent of Yahoo's workforce is being laid off today. The login issues might or may not be linked to these staffing changes. Some wonder if this is a mark of a downfall of the company. This employee layoff is likely to place even more people in the pay day loans line.

Yahoo login and Yahoo offerings down

Yahoo login was just not functioning according to many reports on the web. Yahoo News, Yahoo Buzz and Yahoo mail all wouldn’t work. It seemed like Yahoo services were down. Yahoo Mail servers were also reported as being off by several outside mail offerings. As of 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time Tuesday, all Yahoo services appeared to be intermittently working.

Yahoo layoffs have been occurring

The Brand new York Times explained that there were rumors going around Monday night. Yahoo layoffs was the topic. Between 600 and seven hundred workers, about 5 percent of workers, will be let go, reports many sources Tues. Yahoo’s products group, which includes Yahoo mail and other major merchandise at Yahoo, can be where the layoffs occur. The Yahoo product division head told department heads to prepare for up to 20 percent of their workforce to get laid off a few days ago.

AOL acquisition off the table for Yahoo

Carol Bartz became CEO in Yahoo. This happened in 2009. She claims the business has been trying to develop ways for “users to interact in social fashions” which has been worked on a lot. AOL was considering making a buyout offer for Yahoo a little bit ago. That offer is now off the table, and it was never officially made. The good news is that the Yahoo layoffs and removal of the AOL offer may really save jobs, as a combined Yahoo/AOL business would have laid off a significant portion of its workforce.
